Today was a good hair day. See?
This is a rarity, since I'm in the middle of the awkward growing out process. So I thought this would be a great time to talk about hair and my routine...or lack there of.
I used to be the hair dye queen. I was partial to reds, but I dabbled in blondes, blacks and shades of brunettes as well. At one point in college, I had gone from black to blonde, and then red (which was actually an awful faded red/pink, not a cool edgy red/pink) in that order, in a matter of 2 months. My hair was fried. I had tried every trick in the book for making my hair healthy, but at some point, my hair had become beyond repair. Time for drastic measures.
Last October, I chopped it all off. Start over. Virgin hair. (Whaaaat?) The pixie cut was fun - I recommend every woman try it at some point - but I was finally ready to let it grow. Healthy and happy. And natural.
I generally stick to shampooing (no conditioner, my hair is still too short) and then letting it hair dry. These are products I use as needed. I don't have a routine. I don't have a system. Just whatever I need, when I need it.
Coconut Milk Hair Oil: I put this on the ends of my hair to smooth them out if needed. Since I'm growing it out, I'm avoiding the salon as much as possible. This helps seal my ends without weighing my hair down.
Big Sexy Hair Hairspray: Perfect for some volume without weighing my hair. I try not to go overboard, otherwise it does get too stiff.
Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Spray and Cream: My hair is naturally wavy. These are perfect for the mornings I wake up with bedhead to extenuate my natural waves.
Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Dry Shampoo: Because sometimes I just don't want to shower. Self-proclaimed lazy girl, remember?
