Sea-Foam

Sweater: Takeout, Tank: Wet Seal, Jeans: Target, Shoes: Vera Wang, Necklace: Forever 21
This sweater isn't something I would normally buy (this is another item from the cousin hand-me-down), but now that I have it, it's one of my favorites and is being added to the rotation. Sea-foam green is my favorite color ever. I don't surround myself with it nearly as much as I should.
At 5ft 6, I am taller than all of my girl friends, except one (I'm lookin' at you Jenna!), and even some of my guy friends. Garrett is even only a couple inches taller than me. So normally, I stick to flats or 1-2 in heels. But when I spot a pair of shoes, mainly boots, that scream perfect and amazing, heel height doesn't matter. I have to have them, so I suck it up and pretend that it doesn't bother me than I'm 8 billion and a half inches taller than the rest of the world. (That might be an exaggeration...)
These are one of those pairs. :)

Pajamas in Public Cont.

Sweater dress: Max Rave, Tights: Target, Socks: Target, Boots: Kmart, Cowl: Betsey Johnson
Yes, this outfit is basically a rendition of yesterday's. :) It's just so comfy, I can't resist!
A recent topic of conversation I've noticed on many fashion blogs is tights. I love seeing women's different opinion on tights. Some women save certain dresses for fall/winter to pair with tights because they are too short. Some women hate tights. Others love them! Having spent majority of my life taking ballet lessons, where the standard uniform is tights and a leotard, I'm pretty used to them. I find them much more comfortable than jeans and if you double layer them, they are just as warm!
The guy across the street asked for my autograph! lol.
What are your thoughts? Pro or anti tights?

P.S. My mom bought me this cowl on our mother-daughter bonding day. It's Betsey Johnson. I'm a sucker for anything designed by her!

Pajamas in Public

Dress: Hand me down, Belt: Charlotte Russe, Tights: Target, Socks: Target, Boots: Journey's, Earrings: Forever 21
This sweater dress was another item from my cousin. It's really comfy, perfect for a Monday! The low back adds a bit of interest too. People don't usually get to see my tattoo when it gets this cold outside. (I'll have to remember exactly how low the back goes for next time! Oops!)
These boots are a favorite of mine (yea, I know I say that about all of my boots. I have a bit of an obsession). My mom bought them for me last fall and I used to wear them almost everyday. They are extremely comfy too!
I am a firm believer in not leaving the house in sweats, so this outfit is my idea of wearing pajamas in public. Comfy dress, tights and flat, soft boots. What are your thoughts on sweats in public?

Post-Thanksgiving

Sweater: Forever 21, Tank: Wet Seal, Jeans: Forever 21, Shoes: Sears, Earrings: Thrifted
I apologize for the three day absence, but it was a much needed break. I had two Thanksgivings and a jump start on my Christmas shopping. My step-dad took my pictures again today, after we spent the day seeing My Week With Marilyn (amazing movie!) and did some shopping.
We took photos in front of the water to go with my "nautical" theme. Is it too late in the year for nautical? Or is that not season-specific? I'm not sure, but I love it anyways. I realized I didn't have any good shoes with me to go with this sweater. Luckily, brown oxfords go with everything!
And as promised, my Thanksgiving bow. I'm not sure if you can see, but there are little cooked turkeys all over it. I was a little bummed, we forgot to take outfit photos on Thanksgiving. I really wanted to show off my dress. Oh well, next time!
Me and my niece, Juliet.
Bob (my step-dad) just gave me a Christmas tie to make into a bow. It sings! I can't wait to show you guys that one. :) I hope everyone had a great holiday!

Back in Madison

Dress: Forever 21, Sweater: Delias, Belt: Charlotte Russe, Shoes: Sears, Bow: Made by me, Earrings: Thrifted
Today was a beautiful day! I didn't even need my jacket. I think it got up to 50 degrees, which is a heatwave in Wisconsin in November. My awesome step-dad took my pictures today with his really cool camera.

Behind me is the beautiful city of Madison. This is right across the street from my parent's house! I love taking pictures here. I can't wait until graduation so I'm back here permanently again!

To prepare for Thanksgiving, I made a beer cheese dip and I created my very own fruit dip. That's pretty big for me since I don't cook or prepare food (aside from making mac and cheese). Ha!

Polka Dots!

Sweater: American Eagle, Top: Forever 21, Tank: Kohl's, Pants: Old Navy, Shoes: Target, Earrings;; Made by me
So, at the cousinly bonding event last weekend, my awesome cousin, Ashley, had four tubs of old clothes that she needed to get rid of. After spending a good two hours going through it, my sister took half, and I took the other half. About a third of my half I gave to Liz, which still left me with a ton of new clothes!
I love these kinds of situations because everyone wins. My sister got a lot of expensive name brand clothes, Liz got a lot of easy-to-wear-but-still-very-stylish clothes, I got a lot of polka dots (my favorite!) and Ash got more closet/storage space.
This is definitely my favorite top in all the clothes that I got for Ash (not to say that I don't love everything else! I do!). I managed to pull off a lot of my favorite things in this outfit. My favorite non-denim pants, my new favorite hairstyle, and my new favorite top. I even managed to add bows in there with my earrings!
I was a little cold...

P.S. Don't stand in front of a wall that is the same color as your hair, otherwise it doesn't stand out as much. Which, obviously with red, is what it's supposed to do. :)

P.S.S. (Or is it P.P.S.? I always forget!) Who's totally stoked for Thanksgiving?!

Mixing Seasons

Sweater: Forever 21, Skirt: Thrifted, Tights: Vera Wang, Shoes: Kmart
These pictures were taken last week when I was at Garrett's. We decided this is a very Winter-ish outfit, so I'll probably wear this again when there's snow on the ground.

This skirt was a very lucky find. It was only a couple dollars and it fits like a dream. Usually when I thrift something for this cheap, I have to fix something on it, but this skirt was made for me! And it has pockets! I firmly believe all skirts/dresses should have pockets.

What is your favorite thrifting find?

If The Shoe Fits...

Sweater: Forever 21, Jeans: Forever 21, Shoes: Kmart
My mama took my photos today! :)

This is one of my favorite sweaters. It's thin, but still warm. And I love stripes! Seriously, every other top in my closet have stripes on it. I'm also a big fan of these shoes. I have them in grey and brown too. (Yes, I do believe in buy them in every color!)

Today was a fun day of cousinly bonding! It's the first time we've ever hung out without the parents. We range from ages 8 to 24 (I'm the second oldest), four girls and four boys. We are a very symmetrical family. :)

So, who's excited for Thanksgiving?!

Straight-Forward

Dress: Thrifted, Sweater: Wet Seal, Tights: Hue, Shoes: Target, Bow: Made by me

Not really much to say about today. (I didn't really feel photogenic today, although I love this outfit/dress) Two exams, met up with my dad and step-mom to get my sister, and came back to my apt. Tomorrow we're heading down to my cousin's house for some awesome cousin-ly bonding! All 8 of us! Should be a pretty fun day!

My Favorite Bow

Sweater: Ambiance Apparel, Pants: Hue, Socks: Target, Shoes: Ebay, Bow: Made by me
I got these pants on my mother-daughter shopping trip. They are corduroy jeggings and the most comfortable pants I've ever owned. You will probably be seeing these a lot in the future. Even though I was told multiple times that it looked like I wasn't wearing any pants.

My beautiful friend, Liz, took my pictures today! She's so fun. I am currently serving as her personal stylist. Maybe she'll let me do a before/after feature on her! (Please Liz?!)

A while back, my step-dad gave me a bunch of his old ties to make into bows. He's the greatest because he doesn't own a single "normal" tie. And he has like 50some (if not more) ties! When he gave me all of his ties, I was really excited about this one because I knew it would make a fun bow. My other favorite is his turkey tie, but I'm debuting that one on Thanksgiving, which I'm completely excited for! :) Who else is stoked for the face-stuffing holiday?

New Dress, New Hairstyle, New News

Dress: Wet Seal, Tights: Hue, Sweater: Lauren Conrad, Belt: Rue 21
These are some of my purchases from shopping on Sunday! I love this dress! It's my first dress that's a fall print. All my other dresses are very summer-y.
I think my hair was inspired by my Micky Mouse ears. This is the first time I've put my hair up like this in about 10 years. I received a lot of compliments today though, so I may put it back into rotation. Especially now that my hair is getting longer.
So, I want to update you guys. If you'll notice, my photos have reverted back to my beginner blogger ways. With the end of the semester looming upon us a bit quicker than I would like, and graduation nearing, I have gotten a bit busy. So has Cassie. (She's graduating this semester too!) So she doesn't have a lot of time to take my photos. I don't have a lot of time to take much more than my photobooth photos.
So, I apologize in advance for the lack of amazing photos and frequent posts. I'd like to be the type of blogger that posts everyday, but that just can't happen right now. Hopefully in January! :)

My Mom is Cooler Than Your Mom

 (That is a joke. Mostly.)
Yesterday was filled with relaxation, massages, shopping and some awesome and much needed mother-daughter bonding. Thank you Mama for the wonderful day! :)
Today was filled with driving back to Point, three hours of math classes back to back (it's a lot more intense than you would think!), and homework. Nowhere near as fun as yesterday.
My mom went to Disney World with my great aunt two weekends ago. It was her first time going without me in twenty years! :( She brought me back these princess pirate ears. I haven't owned Mickey Mouse ears in soooo long! I love them! :) Thank you Mama for the ears too!
Yo ho yo ho a pirate's life for me!

A Busy Day, Red Hair and an Unworn Dress

Dress: Forever 21, Belt: Thrifted, Tights: Vera Wang, Shoes: Kmart (refashioned by me), Oui Ring: Forever 21
This is what I wore yesterday, which was a fairly busy day. I had classes, then I drove to Madison (which is about an hour and a half), then Garrett and I had to run some errands. When we got back, we watched Harry Potter (of course!) and fell asleep pretty early. We've so old, I know.
I'm pretty excited to be a redhead again. I've been dying my hair red on and off since I was in fourth grade. (Yes, fourth grade) This red isn't nearly as drastic as I've gone in the past. I used to go for same-shade-as-my-belt red. :)
Cassie gave me this dress almost a year ago and this is my first time wearing it. I have a lot of things in my closet that I love dearly, but never wear. I'm not really sure why. But now that I've worn it once, you might see me in it a billion more times. (I apologize for the wrinkles! I need to be more proactive with an iron.)
Tomorrow is Spa Day with my mom! :)
I hope you are having a great weekend!
